Bared To You / Reflected In You

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness. He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily  Gideon "knew." He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each others most private wounds and desires.  The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart. This was my fist erotic book ever. I got it as a gift. I loved the story a lot. I actually didn't think that I was gonna enjoy this type of books this much. The reason I'm reviewing these 2 books in the same post is because I read these 2 books from a while and I don't remember a lot of details. Crossfire is an erotic series ( 5 books ) Bared to you is book 1 and Reflected In You is book 2. I li...

Mr. Robot

Elliot Alderson is a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilant hacker by night. He has social anxiety.  Elliot's dad is dead because of the radiation on the company he worked for but Elliot couldn't prove that. E corp is the largest conglomerate in the world " A perfect monster for modern society. " Later on this company will get hacked and this is where the story began. What I mostly liked about this show is that Elliot is always talking to an imaginary person ( us the viewers ) so you will always feel like you're a part of the show. I tried watching this show last year and I gave up after 2 episodes. I found it so boring and I wasn't understanding anything. Then this year I heard a lot of reviews about it so I gave it another try and I loved it. The problem was that while watching the first episode for the first time I wasn't paying attention a lot so I missed a bunch of stuff. The second time I was full focused so I enjoyed the first episode ...

Red Queen

This is a world divided by blood – red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart. First of all I'm in...

We Were Liars

A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth. We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author, National Book Award finalist, and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.  Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE. This is an amazing book. Read it in one sitting. I loved the style of writing. Short phrases. Simple. Beautiful. Captivating. Unexpected. Cadence Sinclaire can't remember her accident and no one from her family is telling her the truth. They are giving her time to remember everything by herself. The Sinclaire family go every summer to their island to spend the vacation. Love. Suspense. Mystery. There's a secret in this book. You will never guess it. Trust me. You will love it. The end will ...

W Is For Wasted

Two dead men changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I’d never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He’d been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He’d been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone’s name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him. Two seemingly unrelated deaths, one a murder, the other apparently of natural causes. But as Kinsey digs deeper into the mystery of the John Doe, some very strange linkages begin to emerge. And before long at least one aspect is solved as Kinsey literally finds the key to his identity. “And just like that,” she says, “the lid to Pandora’s box flew open. It would take me another day before I understood how many imps had been freed, but for the moment, I was inord...

Outlander

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743. Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire—and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. I got this book as a birthday gift. It's huge ( 863 pages ) but totally worth it. I love it! After walking through a circle of standing stones and vanishing into 1743, the first person who Claire met was a British army officer, her husband's six-times gr...

The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer

Mara Dyer believes life can't get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can. She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.  There is. She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.  She's wrong. This book has been on my to read list for a long time and I have finally read it. After waking up in a hospital because of an accident, Mara can't remember the cause of the accident & the death of her friends. At first I thought that it's gonna be a normal cliche story but I was wrong. It's a bit complicated and confusing. The first half of the book was a bit slow so it took me a while to get into the story but when I reached the second half I couldn't put the book down. The chapters are short so it's faster to read. I guess. Some chapters were really confusing but the last few ones had...

Fifty Shades Of Grey Series

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.   Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.  This was my first erotic series. First book was good. Took me a while to get into it but then I couldn't stop reading. My favorite book is the second one. I loved it from th...

Lady Midnight

In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons,  parabatai  is a sacred word. A  parabatai  is your partner in battle. A  parabatai  is your best friend.  Parabatai  can be everything to each other—but they can never fall in love. Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. Shoulder to shoulder with her  parabatai , Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where vampires party on the Sunset Strip, and faeries—the most powerful of supernatural creatures—teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. When the bodies of humans and faeries turn up murdered in the same way Emma’s parents were when she was a child, an uneasy alliance is formed. This is Emma’s chance for revenge—and Julian’s chance to get back his brother Mark, who is being held prisoner by the faerie Courts. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two wee...

Milk And Honey

Milk And Honey  is a collection of poetry and prose about survival.   " My heart woke me up last night how can i help i begged my heart said write the book  " The reason I put these red flower pieces on the book and under it is that this book is full of sadness and beauty. This book is divided into 4 parts : The hurting, The loving, The breaking and The healing. Everyday I read a part. Each part is formed of several poems/quotes that are so touching. This book contains a lot of relatable poems about violence, abuse, love, loss and femininity. One of my favorites is : you treat them like they have a heart like yours but not everyone can be as soft and as tender you don't see the person they are you see the person  they have the potential to be you give and give till they pull everything out of you  and leave you empty  What completed this book are the simple sketches on some poems that added an artistic touch. This b...

Van Helsing

Vanessa Helsing wakes up from a coma to find that she's stuck in a vampires apocalypse and her blood is the cure . She lost her daughter and she's going to search for her with the help of other survivors. I finished season one and I can't wait for season two. The first episode started with Vanessa lying on a bed in an abandoned hospital and suddenly 3 vampires attacked her. One of them bit her and then started to vomit blood and then started turning human again. Cool. This is something new never saw it before. Despite all the negative reviews and everyone who's saying that this show is cliche, it's not. I totally enjoyed it. There's a lot of cool characters in this show. For example, Axel Miller. He's that character who sounds means but all he wants to do is protect everyone especially Vanessa. I ship them . He's a smart character and ready for any threat. There's some characters too who will betray anyone to save their asses. I hate them . ...

Zoo

Violent animal attacks upon humans are occurring all over the world. Jackson Oz, an American zoologist who offers safaris in Africa, begins to notice the animals' strange behavior and takes it upon himself to solve the reason why before these attacks become more coordinated and ferocious. This show has 3 seasons already. The second season is my favorite. It's based on the book " Zoo " by  James Patterson . It's a cool show because you will see a lot of animals mutations. It's filmed in more than 1 country. The characters are good. My favorites are Mitch Morgan, a veterinary Pathologist & professor at UCLA and Jamie Campbell, a journalist. I wasn't interested a lot in the show when I started it because it was a bit slow. I'm glad that I didn't stop it and gave it a chance because later on it turned good. It has some good plot twists especially in the last scene of season 2 and some scenes in season 3. So what I'm trying to say is don...

Salvation

An MIT grad student and a tech superstar bring a low-level Pentagon official a staggering discovery--that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth. I just finished watching season one. It was really good. It was slow at first then it turned well. The characters are lovable. I ship Darius and Grace. Team Darius no matter what. He's the best. There's a scene in the finale episode that broke me into thousand pieces. I really hope that they will renew it because it deserves that and we deserve more scenes of Darius and Grace lol. You should really give it a try because you will fall in love with Darius. Here's a trailer for season one :

Delirium Series

In an alternate United States, love has been declared a dangerous disease, and the government forces everyone who reaches eighteen to have a procedure called the Cure. Living with her aunt, uncle, and cousins in Portland, Maine, Lena Haloway is very much looking forward to being cured and living a safe, predictable life. She watched love destroy her mother and isn't about to make the same mistake. But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena meets enigmatic Alex, a boy from the "Wilds" who lives under the government's radar. What will happen if they do the unthinkable and fall in love?   I got the first book as a birthday gift. First book was a bit slow for me but then it turned good. I gave it 4 stars. Book 2 and 3 were better. I gave them 5 stars. Overall it's a good series. I liked it and recommended it for a friend who liked it as well. So why not give it a try and tell me what you think about it?

The Sinner

Follows the story of a young woman who commits horrific acts of violence and rage, and to her surprise, has no idea why. And the investigator who becomes obsessed with the case and is determined to dig into her past and figure out "why" this is happening.  I just finished watching season one and it was phenomenal. I loved it! The story was confusing at first because nothing was clear but after every episode we get a little clue so the story starts getting clearer. The last two episodes were amazing! Loved that twist. It was so good and not expected. It's a really good show I hope they will renew it for a second season. You should all watch it! Here's a trailer for season one :

The Hunger Games Series

Winning will make you famous.  Losing means certain death. The nation of Panem, formed from a post-apocalyptic North America, is a country that consists of a wealthy Capitol region surrounded by 12 poorer districts. Early in its history, a rebellion led by a 13th district against the Capitol resulted in its destruction and the creation of an annual televised event known as the Hunger Games. In punishment, and as a reminder of the power and grace of the Capitol, each district must yield one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 through a lottery system to participate in the games. The 'tributes' are chosen during the annual Reaping and are forced to fight to the death, leaving only one survivor to claim victory. When 16-year-old Katniss's young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives, some of whom have ...

The Maze Runner Series

If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human. When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone. Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade. Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive. Everything is going to change. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying. Remember. Survive. Run. I love The Maze Runner series and I love James Dashner . He's one of my favorite authors! First of all please don't judge this series based on the movies because they changed a lot and they ruines the story. The books are small ( about 300 pages ). Each book can take less than a day because you will keep turning the pages. That's how good is James. I loved the story from the first chapter till the last one. Everything is perfect. I literally cri...

The 5th Wave Series

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the  un lucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother-or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.  As I said before I'm not a lot into Aliens but a friend suggested this series so I gave it a try. It took me a while to get into the first book. It was slow at first then it turned good. The second book was a bit better. But the third one was r...

Matched Series

In the Society, officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die. Cassia has always trusted their choices. It’s hardly any price to pay for a long life, the perfect job, the ideal mate. So when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is the one…until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now Cassia is faced with impossible choices: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path no one else has ever dared follow—between perfection and passion.  First of all, I love the colors of these covers. My favorite book was the third one ( Matched ). It's a very nice story. I think it reflects our life, how " officials " decides everything for us whether it's our love, job, food, clothes...anything. We live in a society where we can't fully access our rights. I loved how they rebelled in this story for love. We will do everything to protect t...

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing. But  they  know. They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They killed them all. I am Number Four. I am next.  I'm not a big fan of Aliens but I actually enjoyed this series. It has seven books. Some of them are written from 2 or 3 perspectives which makes reading it more enjoyable because you will see the story from different perspe...

Gone Series

In the blink of an eye, everyone disappears. Gone. Except for the young. There are teens, but not one single adult. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened. Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents—unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers—that grow stronger by the day. It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: On your 15th birthday, you disappear just like everyone else..  This is one of the coolest series. I loved the idea that everyone older than 14 years old disappears mysteriously and some of the left kids started getting superpowers. How cool is that? I didn't expect to like it so much because all the characters are kids but surprisingly i...

Somewhere Between

A mother tries to change the fate of her 8 year old daughter, as she knows where, when and how she's murdered, but doesn't know who kills her and why.  Please ignore all the negative reviews about this show because it's so good. I just finished watching season one and I loved it! Hope it get renewed for a second season. I really don't know why almost everyone hated this show. The story is cool. I think the acting could have been a little better but overall it was good. I ship Laura and Nico. They would be a really cute couple. The last episode was so satisfying. There's only one thing I didn't understand completely. I don't know if I missed it or they didn't answer it yet. I will read some articles online. I have a feeling that they will cancel it because of the low rating but let's hope they won't because it doesn't deserve that. Here's a trailer for season one :

Westworld

Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged without consequence. I think this is the most complicated show ever!  I can't express how amazing this show is. You will be confused till the last episode but don't give up because everything will come clear in the last episode. If you ever feel like not following the story anymore just open google and read some explanations about the episodes you already watched. It helps a lot. I just can't wait for season two. Season one left me speechless. Give it a try! ( It's 18+ ) Here's a trailer for season one :
